Summer 2010 Class Schedule

Quilt Basics
A beginner workshop to learn the basic of rotary cutting & sewing a 1/4" seam. This class is a prerequisite to our quilting classes unless you are already familiar with these techniques.
You may borrow the shop's equipment (rotary cutter, mat & ruler) FREE of CHARGE   for this class if you do not own it already. This is your chance to try quilting with out the investment! With Cheryl.

Beginning Quiltmaking #1
A five week sampler series - the perfect follow up to Quilt Basics. You will learn different piecing techniques, add sashing & borders, baste your quilt together and apply binding. With Cheryl.
 

Will be back in the fall.
Fee: $75 each plus materials

Finishing Workshops (Open Quilting)
Now's the time to take care of your unfinished quilt projects!!! Nothing to finish???
You may bring a new project instead!!!
Cheryl will help you through the process of finishing (or starting!). Please bring your notes/book for your project to class.

Machine Quilting Workshop
In this workshop, Cheryl will teach you the secrets of free motion quilting.

Spinning Stars

Using log cabin blocks, you can create the spinning effect. This can be made as a wall hanging or quilt.
We've divided the class into 2 sections. #1 will cover making the log cabin blocks & strip units. #2 will cut the blocks, piece them together & add the background pieces. It is not required that you take #1 as long as you come to #2 class with that work completed.

Raggie Quilt
Join Cheryl for this ever popular quilt. Using flannels & leaving the edge raw makes this quilt extra snuggly.

Rule of Thirds Table Runner

We used holiday fabrics for our runner but any theme works as well. With Cheryl.

Beginning Sewing for Adults
A real beginner class offered at 2 levels with Eileen. The focus of the class is on garment sewing but with the knowledge gained, you'll be able to also make home decor items & more!

Saturday June 19  10am-5pm
Fee: $40 plus materials (includes lunch)

Beginning Sewing for Kids
For kids ages 8-12 with Eileen.
Level #1 (elastic waist shorts) or Level #2 (fabric bag)
Saturday June 12 10am-3pm
Fee: $25 each plus materials (bring a bag lunch)

Quilt Camp for Kids

Kids ages 10 & up will make a lap size quilt during camp with Cheryl. Rotary cutters will be used. It is suggested that you practice with your child prior to class or plan to attend the first session with them. Slideshow is the design for this year's camp.

Monday to Friday August 16 to 20
10am -1pm OR 2-5pm

Fee: $75 plus materials & pattern
OR $275 with a Hobby 1122 sewing machine plus materials & pattern

Doll Clothes Series

In this series of classes with Elna, kids ages 8 & up will make doll clothes designed for the 18" doll. Patterns will be provided.

Class Policy
Payment is required upon registration. Refunds will be made up to 2 weeks prior to class. After that time credit towards another class will be given if a replacement can be found for your spot. We no longer will "pencil" you in for a class - you need to pay the fee to sign up for a class. We accept Visa & Master Card over the phone or you may mail a check. If we need to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, refunds will be made.
A 10% discount is given on all regular price class supplies. 

Just For You Class

We will be happy to schedule a class you - 3 person minimum.

Clubs & Classes

These series of classes are designed for owners of Pfaff sewing machines and sergers.
You should be familiar with the basic operation of your machine. The new owner's class is a suggested prerequisite.
If you own another brand of machine, you are welcome to join us.
Please bring your manual with you. Fees may differ.

Watch for new clubs this fall.

New Owners Classes
The following classes are available at no charge to those of you who have purchased Pfaff machines from Style Fabrics. Other brands of machines made join us if there is room in the class (fee is $50 each - please bring your manual).

At present, we are offering classes for these machines by appointment. Please contact us for a time that is convenient.
